Artist Statement

I consider myself to be an impressionist. My work comprises of landscapes, still life, and figures. Medium of choice is acrylic, but will use pastels and water soluble oils. I am mainly a landscape artist. I also create Psankas(Ukrainian Easter eggs). When choosing a subject, I rummage through my pictures for reference material. The chosen picture is modified using a photo editing program in order to get an idea of the composition that is in my mind. Some of my landscape paintings come from my imagination. My style or technique was developed by studying the renaissance and the impressionist artists. My art is influenced by the art of Goya, Rembrandt, Monet, and Renoir.
